It’s a shame the shin guards are so jacked up as these would be a perfect addition to a collection they actually hold their shape perfectly and can actually be worn as they are. I have a baggie with the broken shin guard pieces but I cannot guaranty all of the “bits” are there but my guess is 95% of them are there. The other thing I’d like to point out is the soles are worn and the padding around the collar along the top is also an issue. Due to their condition, I’m having a difficult time valuing them, let me know your thoughts. There’s an interesting backstory of the designer Torsten Hallman of the origins of this line of motocross gear which eventually became THOR After his racing career, he began to sell motocross pants and gloves at the races to help supplement his income. Innovative Hallman racing products were available in the mid 1970s via catalogue, and were very popular throughout the United States. In 2000, Hallman was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. This eventually led to the formation of THOR Motocross (Torsten Hallman Original Racewear). THOR grew to become one of the leading off-road racing apparel companies in the world. THOR was founded by 4-Time World 250cc Motocross Champion (’62, ’63, ’66, ’67) Torsten Hallman in 1968 in San Diego, California. The US riders and press were intrigued by the young, fast Swede wearing goatskin leather pants and riding the bike with the hard to pronounce name. Torsten began to import pants, gloves, and jerseys under the brand name Hallman Racing, or THOR (Torsten Hallman Original Racewear). This was the beginning of THOR. My guess is …before he manufactured his own, he works with SIDI to “brand” his own line. Sidi was founded by Dino Signori back in 1960. Originally, the product line was dedicated to hiking boots, but eventually the brand became synonymous with performance off-road footwear. Sidi boots have been used by some of the most successful motocross riders in history. With a broad range of products designed for a variety of two-wheeled sports. After celebrating their 50th anniversary, Mr. Signori is still found in the office on a daily basis along with his daughter Rosella who helps run the business. Sidi’s headquarters are located in Maser Italy. The Venetto region that Sidi calls home is also where handful of key boot makers can be found. In fact, both Alpinestars and Gaerne are located within earshot of Sidi. ABOUT US: I’m a wannabe American Picker, these items come from estate sales in the Chicago area.
